Crickets

If you've been to the blog lately, you've heard....well....crickets probably.  It's been a little quiet on the blog the past week and for that I apologize.  I was on a much (much) needed mini vaca and my IT ignorant self made a posting boo boo.  I was SO proud of myself before I left for the beach, I had 4 posts written and "timed" to post on separate days, (or so I thought).  Obviously that didn't happen (and sadly, I'm still trying to figure out why).  I had such spotty service down there that I wasn't able to check the blog and didn't realize what was going on until I got home.

That being said, I am home with a much needed clear mind and a very refreshed soul :)  What does all of this mean for you?  Besides a happy Heather?  It means a blog post.  Every.  Day.  This.  Week.  Awesome, I know ;)

So, thanks for your patience and stay tuned!!

Pretty in Pink

On a hot summer day 24 years ago, I met her mama........

....so it was only appropriate that I also met this little Princess on a hot summer day.

Riverbend Maternity

This lovely mama to be was a dream to work with.  She repeatedly told me that she would do whatever I wanted her to (that's how we ended up in the water) and even let me style her session.  We both showed up armed with multiple outfits and after sorting through them, and making decisions, we started romping around Riverbend Park

Megan, thanks for helping me carry out all of my crazy ideas!  I can't wait to meet your little man in the fall!!

Isn't she gorgeous???

See?  He's cute already!!

Twins!

So, usually when I show up to a newborn session, Mom will have some requests.  Whether it be outfits, special blankets or a specific room she wants me to shoot in.  However, when I showed up for this session, Mom said "do whatever you need to do".

Well....then Dad came in.  "Can you use my Redskins jersey?"  Being a die hard Redskins fan, I had no opposition to this.  Then, he asked his wife where the golf booties are, and the baseball ones.....and where are their National's socks?  I.  Loved.  It.  We had a great time and got some great shots stemming from Dad's ideas.

Thanks as always to Becca Watkins for tagging along, holding baby parts and getting some awesome macro shots!

K Family, enjoy your sneak peek!!

Oh how I love the tiniest of smiles!!

This one's for Dad

Um, Jen, you're looking pretty amazing for someone that had twins 2 weeks before this shot.

Thank you Becca and Meghan for your help and patience with this shot.  Couldn't have done it without you.  Hopefully you agree it was worth it :)

R Family

I first met this family when I did their youngest's newborn session.  Then, we met up again for that same little miss' 6 month pictures.  When Mom asked me if I'd do a family session and pics of the other kids, I couldn't say yes fast enough.

These boys were hilarious.  Every time I tried to get them to smile, they'd start posing and acting all crazy.  And yes, he's actually fanning himself!!  :)

Sharp Rock Vineyard Wedding: Kristin & Jeff

I don't ask a lot of questions when I'm second shooting.  Just tell me where to be and when to be there.  Becca said she would pick me up and drive because this wedding was "way out there", a little more than an hour out into the mountains.  We took in the scenery, had our typical photo talk and gossip fest.  After the third mountain winery that we passed, I confessed how badly I wanted to shoot a vineyard wedding.  She let me go on about ideas for poses, using the scenery, grapes, barrels, and on and on and on.  Then she nonchalantly said "Today's wedding is at a vineyard".

I bolted upright in my seat "WHAT?!?  You didn't tell me that!!"

Becca's response?  (And why I love her) "You never asked"

I got to spend the day second shooting and assisting Becca at the gorgeous Sharp Rock Vineyards.  We were blessed with an overcast day, an incredibly laid back bride and groom and some pretty fun guests.

Becca, as always, thanks so much for having me along!

Kristin and Jeff had their guests walk through the vineyards to get to the ceremony site.  Nestled among the vines of grapes were pictures of them and their life together.

Jeff proposed to Kristin after hiking the mountain in the picture behind them.
